Rain batters country, pounds Istanbul hardest
Torrential rains have lashed several parts of Türkiye, with the metropolitan city of Istanbul bearing the brunt the most as its world-famous Grand Bazaar has filled with flood water.
Following the torrential rain warnings issued for 17 provinces, including Istanbul, the expected rain hit the metropolitan city on Aug. 15.

Bosphorus’ underground tunnel looted: Expert
Treasure hunters have looted a secret underground tunnel in Istanbul's Üsküdar district, a cave researcher has said.
Speaking with the İhlas News Agency, Fatih Bayrak highlighted that the 500-meter-long tunnel starts in the Çengelköy neighborhood and ends in the Kuzguncuk neighborhood.

Istanbul Airport listed busiest in Europe
Istanbul Airport was the busiest airport in Europe in May by traffic volume as it served a total of 5.7 million passengers, according to data from the Airports Council International (ACI).
London Heathrow, which welcomed 5.34 million travelers, ranked second, followed by Paris's Charles de Gaulle at 5.22 million passengers.

‘Haunted pavilion’ of Kadıköy up for sale
Located in Istanbul's Kadıköy district, Ragıp Pasha Pavilion, popularly known as the "haunted pavilion," has been put up for judicial sale for 449 million Turkish liras ($26.5 million).
