Istanbul-Sofia Express

The Istanbul-Sofia Express has provided service to 37,000 passengers as of December 2024, according to Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu.

Praising the line as "Türkiye's iron gateway to Europe," Uraloğlu highlighted its growing popularity among travelers seeking a comfortable and economical travel option between Türkiye and Europe.

An accident on the railway between Kostenets and Belovo stations stopped the movement of many trains in southern Bulgaria on the main railway line Plovdiv-Sofia and caused delays on almost all lines, incl. in Northern Bulgaria.

On June 1st (Saturday), for the first time, a new train line connecting Plovdiv and Edirne will be put into exploitation. Through this composition "BDZ-Passenger Transport" Ltd. will provide its clients with a convenient opportunity for a tourist trip to Turkey with a two-way ticket during the weekends.
