Court says no to disputed report on 5,560 Istanbul houses
An annulment decision by the Council of State has revealed that a large urbanization decision about a central Istanbul neighborhood of 5,560 houses was made upon the inspection of only 14 buildings and almost no scientific examination.
Women caught on camera while stealing aid money for families of Soma victims
A security camera has caught two women in Istanbul stealing a donation box that was placed to raise aid money for the families of mine workers who died in the Soma disaster last month.
The women stole the box from an invoice payment center in Istanbulâs district of AtaÅehir, after distracting the person on duty.

‘The Song of Nature’ comes to city
The 42nd Istanbul Music Festival, organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (Ä°KSV), opened June 1 with a ceremony at the Lütfi Kırdar Congress and Exhibition Hall. For the opening, the Borusan Childrenâs Choir, under the baton of Gürsen Yavuzkal, performed a short concert. Ä°KSV President Bülent EczacıbaÅı presented the contributors to the festival with plaques.

All Gezi Park protesters released after two days
The 153 people who were detained in Istanbul and Ankara during demonstrations to mark the anniversary of the Gezi Park protests were released on June 2.
The protesters, who were detained and taken to the Vatan Police Department in Istanbul on May 31, were taken to ÃaÄlayan Courthouse to testify.
