Over 60 museums and galleries across 25 regions in Bulgaria are taking part in the Night of Museums initiative. On May 18, thematic exhibitions, concerts, various art events, and special activities will be available to the public for free.
Sofia Celebrates its Holiday - September 17th
On 17th of September, Bulgaria's capital celebrates St. Sofia Day - the day on which the Orthodox church commemorates the Holy Martyrs Sofia and her three daughters Faith, Hope and Love.
The festive program begins at 11:30 am with an official ceremony of raising the flag of the city in front of St. Sofia Temple.

Construction on the Attic Floor of a Building that is a Cultural Monument, Approved by Bulgarian Cultural Minister
The construction of a mansard floor on the roof of one of the most remarkable buildings in Sofia, which is located at the corner of Ivan Vazov Street and Rakovski Street, is under preparation. The work plan for the change already has the consent of the Ministry of Culture and has been signed by the Minister of the Ministry Boil Banov.
Bulgaria Marks the 169th Anniversary of the Birth of Ivan Vazov
Today, Bulgaria marks the 169th anniversary of the birth of Patriarch of Bulgarian Literature Ivan Vazov, BNT reminded.
In the capital, the anniversary will be celebrated at the monument to the writer in the garden of the Hagia Sophia and in his house in the center of the city.

Several Central Areas in Sofia without Water after an Accident
A broken pipe left part of the neighborhoods of Lagera, Hipodruma, Beli brezi, Kriva reka and Ivan Vazov in Sofia.
There are a number of hospitals in the area - Pirogov, Military Medical Academy, Alexandrovska and others.
The accident occurred in the early hours of May 11 in the area between Geshov Boulevards and Bulgaria.

Bulgarian President will Lay a Wreath at the Memorial of the Martyrs in Beirut

Repair Closes Another One of the Central Streets in Sofia
One more of the streets in downtown Sofia will be closed for repairs. On February 20, Wednesday, the renovation of "Shesti Septemvri" Street from "Aksakov" Str. To "Slavianska" Street starts, the Sofia Municipality announced. On a preliminary schedule, the repair must be completed by April 15, but the time limit may be extended if the weather deteriorates and prevents work.
