Dacic: West pressuring countries that might support Srebrenica resolution

BELGRADE - Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said on Tuesday Western powers were pressuring countries that might support a draft UN General Assembly resolution on Srebrenica and noted that, even though the outcome of a vote on the document would not be favourable for Serbia, Western states would not be satisfied either because they expected a two-third majority.

Dacic meets with Interpol secretary-general

BELGRADE - Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic met with Interpol Secretary-General Jurgen Stock on Wednesday, conveying Serbia's interest in deepening its intensive cooperation with the organisation.

Dacic noted that the Serbian Interior Ministry was a dependable partner in the fight against organised crime, the ministry said in a statement.

Becic re-elected head of parliamentary body overseeing Serbian security services

BELGRADE - Igor Becic from the Aleksandar Vucic - Serbia Must Not Stop group in the Serbian parliament was on Friday elected chairman of the parliamentary committee overseeing Serbia's security services.

Becic held the post in the previous two parliaments.

Vladan Zagradjanin from the Ivica Dacic - Socialist Party of Serbia was elected deputy chairman.

Dacic: Our duty is to not allow attempts to change history

BELGRADE - Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic congratulated all Serbian citizens on May 9 - WWII Victory Day - on Thursday.

"Victory Day is a great holiday, a symbol of heroism and unity of peoples that, above all, brings back strong memories of the joint fight against fascism, the biggest evil of the 20th century," Dacic said in a statement released by the Interior Ministry.

Dacic takes over as Serbia's new interior minister

BELGRADE - Serbia's new Interior Minister Ivica Dacic took over from his predecessor Bratislav Gasic at a ceremony on Tuesday.

Dacic, who is also deputy PM, wished the citizens that they have as little to do with the police as possible and said his goal was for the Interior Ministry to be the government's best ministry.

Dacic, Ashton discuss Belgrade-Pristina dialogue

BELGRADE - Serbian First Deputy PM and FM Ivica Dacic received British Baroness Catherine Ashton, a former EU foreign policy and security chief, in Belgrade on Thursday to discuss issues related to the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.

Dacic and Ashton agreed continued dialogue was the only path that would lead to results, the Serbian MFA said in a statement.
