FIFA Ethics Committee Provisionally Bans Blatter, Platini for 90 Days
The adjudicatory chamber of the Ethics Committee provisionally banned FIFA President Sepp Blatter, UEFA President and FIFA Vice-President Michel Platini and FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke for a period of 90 days.
The duration of the bans, which come into force immediately, may be extended for an additional period of not more than 45 days.
FIFA Needs 'Profound Overhaul', Blatter Says
FIFA President Sepp Blatter highlighted the need of 'deep-rooted structural change' at the organisation when he announced his decision to step down.
"For years, we have worked hard to put in place administrative reforms, but it is plain to me that while these must continue, they are not enough," Blatter said in remarks posted on FIFA website.
