Antalya Piano Festival turns 17, expects more listeners to come

The International Antalya Piano Festival is returning for a 17th year on Sept. 21 with world-famous artists. 

For the first time this year, the festival, which was previously organized at the Antalya Culture Center, will be organized at the EXPO 2016 Antalya Congress Center in order to facilitate the participation of a higher number of people. 

Over 40 sheep dead after poisoning in central Turkey

Some 41 sheep have been found killed after being poisoned in the Karatay district of the Central Anatolian province of Konya, Doğan News Agency reported on Sept. 19. 

Some 15 of the 41 sheep were found by their owner Alaattin Gezer struggling for their lives following the apparent poisoning, after which he opted to slaughter them.

Euro court fines Turkey over lack of investigation into death of soldier

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) on Sept. 20 ordered Turkey to pay compensation to a couple from the eastern province of Ağrı who had filed a complaint over their son's death during his compulsory military service. 

Şirin and Barika Güzelaydın applied to the court claiming that their son Burhan had been killed and had not committed suicide. 

13 detained at Turkish petrochemicals company lodgings in coup attempt probe

Police detained 13 suspects on Sept. 20 at the lodgings of Turkey's biggest petrochemicals company, PETKİM, in the Aliağa district of İzmir as part of the ongoing investigation into the Fetullahist Terror Organization (FETÖ), which has been accused of orchestrating the failed coup attempt of July 15.
