Repatriation flights head for Greece as wildfires force tourists to flee
Wildfires burned across Greece on Monday, forcing people to be evacuated from a beach on the island of Corfu while tourists crowded an airport on Rhodes after thousands fled hotels and resorts at the weekend.
Fires burning since Wednesday on Rhodes forced the evacuation of 19,000 people over the weekend as an inferno reached coastal resorts on the island's southeastern coast.

The Bulgarian police arrested a drunk British man on the night of Sunday to Monday at the Sofia airport after an emergency landing of a flight from the Turkish resort of Bodrum to Glasgow, BNR reported, referring to the "Daily Mail".

Tourism Minister expresses optimism for 2022 in FT interview
The Minister of Tourism, Vassilis Kikilias, expresses reasonable optimism for the next tourist season in an interview with the Financial Times.
"Having met most airlines and tourism providers in the UK, we can only be very optimistic about 2022," he said. He pointed out that "in 2022 Greece expects 35% more visitors from the United Kingdom compared to 2021".

Man Dies of Legionnaires' Disease after Bulgarian Holiday
A man from Lanarkshire has died from Legionnaires' disease after staying at a Bulgarian hotel, it has been claimed.
John Cowan, from Hamilton, died in June a week after falling ill at the Hotel Kalofer in the Sunny Beach resort.
The 43-year-old's family claim he contracted Legionnaires at the hotel and are threatening legal action against holiday firm Jet2.
Airports in Varna and Burgas Add New Destinations
Six new year-long lines will be opened from Varna Airport this summer. New direct flights begin in July and will be from and to Paris, Cologne, Hamburg, Berlin, Copenhagen and Liverpool. This was announced today by the chief executive of Fraport Twin Star Airport Management AD Ulrich Heppe.

Jet2 Increases Flights to Bulgaria
Jet2.com is to add more flights from the UK to its new destination of Burgas in Bulgaria for summer 2019.
The carrier and tour operator Jet2holidays will offer up to 14 flights to Burgas from its nine UK bases after adding an extra flight from both Leeds Bradford and Manchester.
