Turkish police have seized more than 1,000 foreign passports and detained eight suspects in raids on multiple homes as part of an operation that targeted human smugglers in Istanbul. 

A total of eight suspects were detained on Feb. 3 in an operation targeting a migrant smuggling organization in Istanbul.

Two people were killed and five were wounded in an armed attack at a tea house in Istanbul's Küçükçekmece district late on Feb. 1. 

Police detained six suspects during an operation following the incident.  

Seven people wounded when two masked men attacked a tea house in the Kanarya neighborhood of Küçükçekmekce with a long-barreled weapon and a handgun. 

A fire broke out May 5 in a hotel under construction in Istanbul?s Küçükçekmece district for an unknown reason.

A number of fire trucks were deployed to the Pullman Hotel construction site located near the Bas?n Ekspres route.

The hotel, which has a capacity of 403 rooms, was scheduled to open in September.
