Police shoot dead two assailants outside Istanbul court
Two people have been shot dead while trying to attack a courthouse in Istanbul on Feb. 6, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has announced.
The man and woman were killed during an attempt to attack a security checkpoint at the Çağlayan courthouse at 11:46 a.m. local time, the minister posted on social media.

Increasing demand for Princes’ Islands shoots up property prices
The prices of the real estate properties in Princes' Islands jumped by some 51.95 percent in a year, making it to the top of the "Istanbul's most valuable districts" list, an expert has said.
The Şile district on the Asian side of the metropolis is a runner-up with an increase of 51.83 percent, while the Sarıyer district on the European side is third on the list with 36.97 percent.

Heavy rainfall hits Istanbul, causes fires and flash floods
A heavy rainfall hit Istanbul in the evening hours of July 27, causing fires and flash floods to occur across the city.
A fire broke out in the Haydarpaşa port when a crane toppled on an oil tanker, causing explosions. The fire was taken under control after firefighters arrived at the scene.
Transportation in the city also came to a near halt following the heavy rainfall.

Istanbul gears up for mass underground tunnel project up to 2023
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality is set to build 28 transport tunnels across major parts of the city, amounting to 145 kilometers in length and expected to be completed by 2023, pro-government daily Yeni Şafak reported on Oct. 27.
