Sailors from 11 countries compete in 23rd Bosphorus Cup
The 23rd Bosphorus Cup, one of the world's premier sailing events that transformed Istanbul's Bosphorus Strait into a dynamic theater of sails, took place from Sept. 19 to 22.
The competition saw the participation of over 1,000 sailors from 11 countries, including Bulgaria, Switzerland, the UAE, Russia and the United Kingdom.
Thousands swim across continents in iconic Bosphorus race
Over 2,800 swimmers from more than 78 countries competed in a remarkable race across the Bosphorus Strait on Aug. 25, traversing the historic divide between Istanbul's two continents.
A total of 2,836 participants, including 1,967 men and 869 women, commenced this year's 36th edition of the race at 10 a.m. from the shores of Kanlıca on the Anatolian side.
Bosphorus’ landmark red mansion sold for 200 mln liras
The Mehmet Emin Ağa Mansion, distinguished by its red color on the Bosphorus, has been sold to a Turkish businessman for 200 million Turkish Liras ($7.5 million) at the end of May, local media has reported.
Disabled mayor crosses Bosphorus for 3rd time
During the 35th Bosphorus Intercontinental Swim Race, Turan Hançerli, the mayor of Istanbul's Avcılar district who tragically lost both of his arms at the age of 18 in an accident, successfully completed his third crossing of the Bosphorus.

35th edition of cross-continental swimming race held in Bosphorus
Istanbul has served as the venue for the 35th time for the Bosphorus cross-continental swimming event, which witnessed more than 2,600 competitors from more than 70 nations.
Organized by the Turkish National Olympic Committee (TMOK) and sponsored by Samsung, the Bosphorus Intercontinental Swimming Race started from Kanlıca and ended at Kuruçeşme Cemil Topuzlu Park.
