Immigrants Storming Turkey-Bulgaria Border Forces Checkpoint Closure
As many as 120 Iraqi asylum seekers stormed a Turkish border crossing into Bulgaria, prompting authorities to close it for two hours on Sunday evening.
The Kapikule checkpoint, bordering Bulgaria's south-east and leading to the Kapitan Andreevo crossing, was attacked at about 18:30 EET, private national channel bTV quotes officials as saying.
Turkey to Introduce Paid Disinfection System at Bulgaria’s Checkpoints
Turkish border authorities will introduce a disinfection system for vehicles at the border crossings with Bulgaria - Kapitan Andreevo, Kapikule, Hamzabeyli / Lesovo and Derekoy / Malko Tarnovo.
Vehicles entering Turkey from Bulgaria will pass through a special system for disinfecting, the governor of the border town of Edirne, Dursun Ali Sahin, announced at a press conference.

Border crossing points on the Bulgarian-Turkish border have opened polling stations for Turkey’s presidential elections on August 10.
A total of10 polling stations have been opened, including 8 at Kapikule – Kapitan Andreevo, one at Hamzabeyli – Lesovo and one at Derekyoy – Malko Tarnovo, according to reports of the Bulgarian National Radio.
Lines Form at Border Crossings Between Bulgaria and Turkey
There are long lines of freight trucks at the border crossings between Bulgaria and Turkey, reports Bulgaria's wire service BTA, quoting Turkish media.
At Kapikule – Kapitan Andreevo crossing the line on the Turkish side is around 6 km and at Hamzabeyli - Lesovo - around 5 km.
Turkish Customs Officers Caught BG Driver With 61 kg Heroin
Turkish customs officers apprehended 61 kg of heroin in a Bulgarian truck as it tried to cross the Kapikule border checkpoint into Bulgaria, reports BTA.
Officially the truck was carrying cement from Turkey to Bulgaria. At the checkpoint it turned out that the load was heavier than declared and the customs officers carried out a thorough inspection of the vehicle.
Software Maintenance Suspends Traffic at Bulgaria-Turkey Border Points
Two of Bulgaria's border checkpoints with Turkey will be temporarily closed due to changes in the software system on the Turkish side.
Starting 9 PM on April 10, until 9 AM on April 11, the passage of vehicles through the border checkpoint "Malko Tarnovo – Derekoy" will be temporarily suspended.
