Bush fire breaks out on Kea island
A bush fire broke out on the Cycladic island of Kea on Friday afternoon.
According to fire service reports, the blaze has spread across an area of sparse vegetation between towns, specifically Coressia and Ioulis, neither of which are in immediate danger.
Extinguishing efforts have been undertaken by two of the island's volunteer fire-fighting vehicles.

Fassianos studio on Kea opens to the public as a museum
The atelier of Greek painter Alekos Fassianos (1935-2022) on the island of Kea, which opened just once last year for an educational program for local children, will be open to all this year from July 15. The little house was Fassianos' "home" when he returned from rainy Paris. 'Slowly, my love for the sea made me settle in Kea, the beautiful island full of surprises,' he was quoted as saying.

Fears grow that Ankara is changing migrant smuggling tactics
Greek authorities have received information that at least two decommissioned ships carrying large numbers of migrants, similar to a small tanker that ran aground off a Cycladic island last week, may be setting sail from Turkey to Greece in the coming days.
Ship carrying 193 migrants aground on Kea island
A ship carrying 193 migrants and refugees from Turkey has ran ashore at the island of Kea (Tzia) early Monday morning.
The ship sailed from the Turkish port of Canakkale and was apparently headed to Italy when bad sea conditions forced it to run ashore on the Greek island.
Authorities say that three traffickers are among the passengers.

Dolphin carrying out tourism investment projects in Kilada and Kea
Dolphin Capital Investors has started carrying out tourism investments totaling 600 million euros on the Cycladic island of Kea and near the village of Kilada in the eastern Peloponnese.
Work is expected to begin in early fall on the construction of a new resort at Kilada, which will be named Kilada Hills and has a budget of 420 million euros.
