Ministry of the Interior Assists Bulgarian Voters Without Valid IDs Ahead of Elections
The Ministry of the Interior, along with the Metropolitan Directorate, will support Bulgarian citizens without valid ID documents to ensure they can vote in the upcoming National Assembly elections on October 27, 2024. The "Bulgarian Identity Documents" Directorate has implemented measures to assist voters.

Needless paperwork to be abolished
As part of the government's stated commitment to crack down on needless and time-consuming bureaucracy, the Digital Governance Ministry plans to gradually abolish the endless number of certificates required in the transactions between citizens and both the private and public sectors with the introduction of the relevant legislation in the coming months.

Clearance documents merged and digitized
The new electronic certificate of state dues clearance will be issued from September with express procedures through a special digital portal on Gov.gr.
It is meant to put an end to the suffering of citizens and businesses who need tax and social security clearance for their transactions.

An Interior Ministry amendment aspires to put an end to delays in the issuance by local authorities of the real estate tax (TAP) clearance, recorded in most municipalities of the country. The amendment establishes rules for the required supporting documents as well as the timeframe of their issue.

Large-Scale Schemes for Fake Covid Certificates Revealed in Plovdiv Region
Plovdiv police have revealed two schemes for issuing false certificates. The documents were issued in Assenovgrad Hospital and in a medical center in the town of Rakovski. Four people were detained for 24 hours.
