On the night of 16-17 December, the DeepState project reported that Russian forces had seized the village of Hannivka in Donetsk Oblast. Additionally, they advanced near several settlements including Dalnie, Uspenivka, Pishchane, Storozheve, Trudove, Kurakhove, Shevchenko, and Kostiantynopolske. Russian forces also made progress near Kruglenkoe in the Kursk Oblast of Russia.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that Russia has begun deploying a significant number of North Korean soldiers in military operations, particularly in the Kursk region. Speaking during his evening address, Zelensky confirmed that these troops are being integrated into mixed combat groups exclusively for offensive maneuvers in the area.

The United States is set to deliver over 500 interceptor missiles to Ukraine in the coming weeks, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal. Explosions were reported early today in Kyiv and Kharkiv.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the UN General Assembly, urging the international community to unite in ending the war with Russia. He emphasized the importance of upholding the UN Charter and Ukraine's right to self-defense, calling for cooperation with nations that share values of peace and sovereignty.

Ukraine's air defense successfully intercepted 72 of the 76 Russian Shahed drones launched during the night of 13-14 September. The Russian forces initiated the strike from various locations, including Russia's Kursk and Yeisk, as well as Cape Chauda in occupied Crimea. In the aftermath, two drones disappeared from Ukrainian radar, while two others returned to Russia.

Russian troops are continuing their counterattacks in response to the Ukrainian incursion into Kursk Oblast, but as of September 12, they have achieved only minimal progress. The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported that the limited success may be due to ongoing Ukrainian offensive operations and defensive counterattacks in the area.

Russian drones struck a residential building in the Ukrainian city of Konotop, located in the Sumy region, according to reports from UNIAN. The city's mayor, Artyom Seminykhin, confirmed the attack resulted in fires and injuries. In a later update on Telegram, Seminykhin reported that two individuals had been hospitalized, with one in a coma.

The number of casualties in the Russian attack on Dnipro on the evening of September 2 has risen to six. According to Serhii Lysak, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Military Administration, one person, a 51-year-old man, was killed, while six others were injured. Among the injured, a 37-year-old man remains hospitalized, while the others are expected to recover at home.

Ukrainian air defenses successfully intercepted three missiles and twenty-five drones launched by Russia overnight, according to Kyiv's air force. The attack targeted nine regions across central, northern, and southern Ukraine. Earlier reports indicated that Ukrainian air defenses had thwarted a Russian air assault on the capital, Kyiv.

The Kremlin has announced that it will not engage in negotiations with Ukraine following the ongoing invasion of Russia's Kursk region, an operation that has caught Moscow off guard and is now in its second week. Ukrainian forces crossed the border on August 6, seizing control of parts of the region and launching an offensive that has caused significant concern in Moscow.
