Experts sound alarm over lurking kidney disease
Around 10% of Greece's adult population suffers from some form of kidney disease, with 10% of that contingent having a serious problem that may have been averted at an earlier stage, the Hellenic Society of Nephrology (ENE) said on Thursday - World Kidney Day - urging greater awareness and more thorough preventive testing.

Romania COVID-19 death toll reaches 107
Another 13 people infected with the new type of coronavirus have died in Romania, with the number of deceased from this cause reaching 107, informs the Strategic Communication Group on Thursday. These are 11 men between the ages of 42 and 87 and two women - one 68 years old from Hunedoara and another 54 years old from Arad. * Death 95 - man, 75 years old, from Bucharest.

British tourist in intensive care after suspected poisoning from spiked drinks
A 20-year-old British tourist, identified as Hannah Powell, was being treated in a hospital in Patra, in western Greece, after consuming spiked drinks that caused her blindness and kidney failure, according to reports.
Powell remained in intensive care a week since her collapse after partying with friends in the Laganas resort on the Ioanian island of Zakinthos, reports said.
