Auditing services of Attica and Thessaloniki to be unified

The centralized auditing services (ELKE) in the regions of Attica and Thessaloniki will be unified, according to a decision by Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) Governor Giorgos Pitsilis, for the purpose of improving efficiency, transparency, and effectiveness of its services.

Minors detained in failed break-in resulting in fatal shooting

Two minors were temporarily detained on Thursday for attempting to break into a livestock unit in the northern municipality of Kilkis, alongside two adults, aged 38 and 45.

The incident occurred Monday when the property owner, present at the time, fired at the four intruders, fatally wounding the 45-year-old.

Pedestrian dies after being hit by cars several times

A man was killed after being run over several times near Thessaloniki in northern Greece.
The 20-year-old, who was not named, was found on the Thessaloniki-Kilkis national highway late Tuesday.
Police said a vehicle driven by a 41-year-old woman hit the pedestrian who was subsequently struck by several more vehicles.
An investigation into the death is ongoing.
