What war with North Korea looks like

The batteries of North Korean artillery lie just on the other side of the divided peninsula’s demilitarized zone. There are thousands of them—some hidden, others out in the open. Artillery shells are stored in an elaborate network of tunnels; and though much of the weaponry and ammunition is old, U.S. forces stationed in South Korea have no doubt they would be effective.

North Korea 'Ready For Nuclear Attack' Amid Show of Force

North Korea has warned the US not to take provocative action in the region, saying it is "ready to hit back with nuclear attacks", reported BBC. 

The comments came as North Korea marked the 105th anniversary of the birth of its founding president, Kim Il-sung.

A huge parade in Pyongyang was held amid speculation current leader Kim Jong-un could order a new nuclear test.

US condemns Pyongyang missile plan, warns against 'provocative' actions

The United States on Jan. 1 sharply condemned a North Korean plan to test-fire an intercontinental ballistic missile and warned Pyongyang against "provocative actions."  

The toughly worded U.S. statement called on "all states" to show the North that any unlawful actions would have "consequences."
