Red Star defeated by Bamberg in basketball Euroleague

BELGRADE - Red Star Belgrade lost to Brose Bamberg 75-69 (30-18, 30-16, 16-19, 16-16) at home in the Euroleague Basketball Round 5 on Thursday.

In front of just 5,892 spectators at the Belgrade Arena, the German team was in control from the very beginning and registered its third consecutive win in European basketball's top-tier competition.

Croats win: Belgrade's largest indoors venue to be renamed

The naming rights sponsorship over the Belgrade Arena (Kombank Arena) will be granted to Croatia-based Atlantic Grupa (Group), the city has announced.

The Serbian capital's largest indoors sports and conference venue will thus for the next five years be known as the Stark Arena - after the Serbia-based company Stark (Soko Stark), which is now owned by Atlantic Grupa.

Sting performs at Belgrade's Kombank Arena

BELGRADE - British pop legend Sting played a concert at Belgrade's Kombank Arena on Sunday.

Greeted by around 15,000 enthusiastic fans, Sting began the performance with a string of hits from his solo career, such as Mad About You, If I Ever Lose My Faith In You, and a reggae version of Englishman In New York.

Vucic: Serbia will never go backward again

Belgrade ready for European Athletics Indoor Championships

BELGRADE - The 34th European Athletics Indoor Championships will be among the best-organised in the history of European championships in the sport, a press conference was told Thursday.

The event will be held at the Belgrade Kombank Arena from March 3 through 5.

Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds to play Kombank Arena October 28

BELGRADE - Celebrated singer/songwriter Nick Cave and his band, The Bad Seeds, will perform at Belgrade's Kombank Arena on October 28.

The concert will be a part of a world tour in support of the band's chart-topping album Skeleton Tree, the Kombank Arena said in a statement.
