Gill: Serbia has done well to maintain macroeconomic stability
MT KOPAONIK - Indermit Gill, chief economist of the World Bank Group and senior vice president for development economics, said on Monday 2023 could be the third-worst non-recession year since 1990 but that Serbia had done very well to maintain macroeconomic stability.

MT KOPAONIK - February macroeconomic projections in Serbia indicate improvement in all segments and end-year inflation should be two times lower than at the beginning of 2023, National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Governor Jorgovanka Tabakovic said on Monday.

Brnabic: Serbia needs innovation-based economy
MT KOPAONIK - An investment-based economy is no longer sufficient for Serbia - it needs an innovation-based economy, PM Ana Brnabic said Wednesday.
The government will continue reforms and accelerate economic growth, she said at the closing of the Kopaonik Business Forum.

Vuckovic: Unwanted companies must go into bankruptcy
MT KOPAONIK - State-owned companies that are unable to settle their liabilities must go into bankruptcy if no one is interested in buying them, says Fiscal Council member Vladimir Vuckovic.
"The Nitrogen Plant owes money to Srbijagas for gas, and that is about 2-3 bln of new debt a year," Vuckovic said at the Kopaonik Business Forum.

Instead it needs an economy based on innovation and announced a faster economic growth of the country, Brnabic said on Wednesday at the closing of the Kopaonik Business Forum.
