Kosovo Politicians Divided Over How to Choose Next President
Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti has repeatedly stated that consultations will be held with the country's political parties to discuss choosing the next president after Hashim Thaci's resignation, but his office told BIRN that the government has not yet set a date for talks.
Hashim Thaci sworn in as Kosovo's president
Hashim Thaci was on Thursday sworn in as president of Kosovo, starting his five-year mandate.
The ceremony took place in the Kosovo Assembly, while the 50-minute inauguration, expected to be attended by 1,200 guests from 50 countries, will be held in downtown Pristina on Friday starting at 11:00 CET, the Kossev website said.

PRISTINA - Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga stated on Thursday that the early parliamentary elections in Kosovo-Metohija will be held on June 8.
Jahjaga issued the announcement at a news briefing after consultations with officials of the parliamentary political parties.

Kosovo Govt Faces No-Confidence Motion
Kosovo's opposition AAK party says it plans to submit a no-confidence motion to parliament on the government of Hashim Thaci “as soon as possible”.
Ardian Gjini, from the AAK, said the motion will be put forward once the party ensures it will be signed by 61 of the 120 lawmakers - the number needed to dissolve the government.
