Serbs injured, Kosovo police car comes under fire

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA -- Two Serb men in their 20s have been injured in a shooting in northern Kosovska Mitrovica early on Monday.

They are currently treated for their injuries described as non life-threatening.

LEPOSAVIC - Velimir Rakic, an MP of the Srpska List in Kosovo's parliament, died in a severe car accident that took place in Leposavic in northern Kosovo-Metohija on Wednesday evening.

Rakic died in the hospital in Kosovska Mitrovica after suffering fatal injuries in the crash between his car and a freight vehicle.

Missing persons associations from divided Mitrovica on Thursday accused both Kosovo and Serbia of failing to shed light on the fate of 1,655 missing persons from the Kosovo conflict.

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - The Kosovska Mitrovica court of first instance has decided to keep leader of the Citizen Initiative SDP Oliver Ivanovic in custody for another two months and resumed his trial for crimes allegedly committed in Kosovo in 1999 and 2000.

More Serbs could be indicted in Kosovo police member murder

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA -- An international public prosecutor has filed the request to EULEX judges to expand the indictment for the murder of a Kosovo police member to four more Serbs.

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - Stevan Vulovic, mayor of the Zubin Potok municipality in northern Kosovo, was placed under a 30-day house arrest, the Pristina-based electronic media reported on Tuesday, citing EULEX spokesperson Dragana Nikolic Solomon.

ZUBIN POTOK - Director of the Serbian government's Office for Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) Marko Djuric said Wednesday that the government had provided funds for the construction of six blocks of flats and several dozen houses in the southern Serbian province to facilitate returns of displaced Serbs and other non-Albanians.
