Greek PM lashes out at predecessors, says he ‘succeeded where they failed’
Alexis Tsipras "would have been a very happy prime minister" if he'd been elected to govern Greece a decade earlier, instead of finding "empty coffers" in 2015, he told Open TV on Thursday, lashing out at his predecessors in the wake of comments by former conservative premier Costas Karamanlis the previous day.
Former PM says ND was right to vote against Prespes deal
Former New Democracy prime minister Costas Karamanlis said Wednesday his party was right to reject the Prespes accord, the deal that ended a 27-year-old stalemate between Greece and North Macedonia over the latter's name.
Karamanlis was addressing party cadres at an ND event in Thessaloniki to present the candidates running in the regional unit.

The key lay in guessing which way the middle-ground voters would swing; those who had voted for PASOK's Costas Simitis and then New Democracy's Costas Karamanlis, those who had voted for Karamanlis and then George Papandreou, and thought of themselves as "homeless" centrists.
