Laybys to be established for couriers to rest

Satellite cities to be established in Istanbul to relocate risky buildings
Within the scope of preparation for the major earthquake expected in the Marmara region, 500,000 of the 1.5 million risky residences in Istanbul will be rebuilt on-site, and satellite cities of 500,000 residences will be established on both sides of the megacity to relocate the rest, Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister Murat Kurum has announced.
Quake survivors to move to container cities: Kurum
With the damage assessment works in 11 quake-stricken provinces to have been completed to a great extent, the next goal is to move all quake survivor people from tents to container cities within two months, Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister Murat Kurum has said.

Government plans new housing campaign
The government is working on a new plan to help people buy existing homes, Environment and Climate Change Murat Kurum has announced.
Kurum recalled that the "My New Home Program" announced last week is designed to provide cheaper loans to middle-income groups but the new project will provide opportunities for people to buy existing houses.

Permission for Brazil’s ‘asbestos ship’ revoked
Türkiye has revoked a local company's permission to dismantle a Brazilian aircraft carrier dubbed "the asbestos ship."
Brazilian navy's NAE Sau Paulo had been due to be taken apart near the Aegean coast city of İzmir in the coming weeks under a contract awarded to a local shipyard 2021.

Government mulls housing project for mid-income groups
As part of its efforts to address the growing problems regarding property prices and rents, the government considers launching a new project to build houses for middle and upper-middle income groups.
Emlak Konut Real Estate Investment Company will coordinate the project, but private developers will also take part in the scheme.
