Heartbreak for AEK in Kiev as goalless draw was not enough
AEK showed once again in the Europa League that it lives and dies by its draws, as it came close to beating Dynamo in freezing Kiev but ended up in a stalemate on Thursday that leaves it out of the last 16 of the tournament, albeit undefeated.
Following the 1-1 draw in Athens last week, AEK went out in Ukraine in search of a goal that would give it the ticket to the next round.
AEK gets the better of Olympiakos again, ousting it from the Cup
AEK eliminated Olympiakos from the Cup for a second year in a row to reach the tournament's semifinals along with PAOK, Panionios and Larissa.
The Yellows followed up the first leg's goalless draw in Piraeus with a 2-1 win at the Olympic Stadium of Athens on Wednesday.

AEK comeback stuns Olympiakos
Lazaros Christodoulopoulos led AEK to a comeback triumph over Olympiakos in the season's first derby, as the Yellows won 3-2 at home on Sunday to stay alone on top of the table.
They are two points clear of PAOK and Panionios who scored home wins on Sunday, in a much more productive Super League weekend than the previous one.

AEK two points clear at the top of the Super League
AEK is alone on top of the Super League table after beating Lamia on Sunday, while Olympiakos narrowly escaped a home loss to Asteras Tripolis. The weekend produced just six goals in seven games, with four of the goals coming from the penalty spot as Greek fans were treated to a diet of very poor soccer.
AEK advances to Europa League group stage, Panathinaikos and PAOK crash out
AEK advanced to the group stage of the Europa League following an emphatic 3-0 win over Club Brugge in Athens on Thursday.
AEK took the lead in the 27 minute through a penalty kick taken by Lazaros Christodoulopoulos. Two more goals from Portuguese midfielder Andre Simoes in the 39th and 90th minutes sealed the triumph for the Greek side who had drawn the first leg 0-0 away.

PAOK lift Greek Cup after beating AEK in final (2-1) (goals-photos)!
PAOK Thessaloniki are celebrating their 5th Greek Cup trophy after triumphing over their Athenian rivals AEK Athens (2-1) in the Greek FA Cup final. The black and whites have clinched one of the two major trophies after 17 years when they had last won the Greek Cup in 2003. Pedro Henrique scored the decider in the 81st minute to send the PAOK fans to the heavens.
