Ljubljana – The National Assembly have voted overwhelmingly in favour of a bill that seeks to better protect pet, increase their well-being and enhance the responsibility of their owners. The amendments to the animal protection act were backed on Wednesday in a 87:1 vote.

BGN 1000 Fine for an Aggressive Dog without a Muzzle in Bulgaria
From 100 to 1000 levs to increase the penalty for walking an aggressive dog without a muzzle, MPs voted unanimously at first reading the deputies from the agricultural commission in the Parliament. The changes are proposed by GERB and are laid down in the Veterinary Act.
They also provide a fine of BGN 300 for a dog without leash, which is over 5 kilograms.

A single mother was attacked by Dogo argentino and barely survived.
The two huge dogs attacked the woman on the street in the Montana village of Sumer, NOVA reported.
The intervention of neighbors saved the woman's life, she has a three-year-old child. She is in a hospital with multiple wounds and tears.
