Lebanon’s prime minister Saad Hariri, back in Beirut for the first time since his shock resignation, was expected Nov. 22 to explain his surprise decision and his extended stay in Saudi Arabia.

The head of the Lebanese Army has asked the military to be at "full readiness" to face "the Israeli enemy" at the southern border. The announcement comes as Arab nations, including Saudi Arabia, vow to tighten their grip on Lebanon's Hezbollah militia.

Turkey has expressed its full pledge to the stability and sovereignty of Lebanon with expectations that Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri will make a decision regarding his career “without pressure” after his return to his country.

Lebanon believes Saad al-Hariri is held in Saudi Arabia, from where he resigned as prime minister, two top Lebanese government officials said, amid a deepening crisis pushing Lebanon onto the frontlines of a power struggle between Saudi Arabia and Iran.

Lebanese Interior Minister Nuhad Mashnuk said today that he believes Prime Minister Saad Hariri, who resigned in the weekend while being Saudi Arabia, will return to Lebanon in a few days, Reuters reported.
