Athens on stanby for civilian evacuations amid rising Middle East tensions
Athens is preparing for a potential evacuation of Greek nationals from the Middle East as regional tensions escalate.
Military and political resources may be mobilized for evacuations from the region, including Lebanon and Israel, with Cyprus as the first stop. Greece has also offered to assist in evacuating citizens of other nationalities.
Israel eyes military backup from Greece, Cyprus as tensions mount
Israeli Transport Minister Miri Regev said that Israel might seek military assistance from the Israeli Air Force and naval support from Athens and Larnaca if the country is attacked.
The announcement follows a warning from Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah to Cyprus against supporting Israel in any conflict with Lebanon.
Turkey urges citizens to leave Lebanon due to security risks
Turkey urged its citizens in Lebanon to leave the country if they do not need to stay, due to the possibility that the security situation there will deteriorate rapidly, its foreign ministry said late on Sunday.

Greek FM Dendias holds talks in Beirut
Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias was expected in Lebanon on Wednesday for talks with the country's political leaders in Beirut.
He will first be received by President Michel Aoun, before meeting with the President of the Lebanese parliament Nabih Berri.

George Clooney's Foundation Gives over USD 2 million to a School for Refugees
The American actor, George Clooney, plans to give USD 2.25 million to open seven schools for 3000 Syrian refugee children in Lebanon, according to Mediapool.
Clooney and his wife Amal said the foundation wants to prevent thousands of young people from becoming part of a future "lost generation".
