South Korean PM Resigns over Bribery Accusations

South Korean President Park Geun-hye accepted on Monday the resignation of Prime Minister Lee Wan-koo, who had been accused of bribery.

Lee Wan-koo, who had been in office for slightly over two months, became the shortest serving prime minister of South Korea since the country became democratic in the late 1980s.

South Korea finally gets a new prime minister

South Korean President Park Geun-Hye finally got a new prime minister on her third attempt Feb. 16, despite claims by opposition lawmakers that her nominee was morally unfit for the office.
      
Lee Wan-Koo, a senior legislator from Park's ruling Saenuri party, was approved in parliament by 148 votes to 128 after a tortuous nomination process.
