Turkey on April 20 summoned Sweden's envoy to strongly condemn recent meetings between Swedish high-level officials and terrorists, according to diplomatic sources.

An opposition lawmaker, whose seat in parliament was revoked due to his final prison sentence, was detained in the Turkish capital Ankara on April 2.
Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) was detained from his residence by the Turkish police.

Turkish police early on March 21 detained Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu, from the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), who was staging a protest in the parliament.
Gergerlioğlu was released on March 21 after giving his statement to the police.
Gergerlioğlu refused to leave parliament after he was stripped of his status and immunity as a lawmaker on March 17.

Why is education still an issue that causes polarization? Why can't political parties agree that you can't protect academic freedom when troublemakers exploit the lack of security on university campuses and occupy spaces therein, or worse.
The main opposition refuses to accept the above because it remains hostage to its past.
