According to the MRB poll presented on Open’s main news broadcast, SYRIZA is ranked as the fifth party, with a single-digit percentage of 9% in the vote estimate. Meanwhile, New Democracy (ND) holds a comfortable lead at 28%, matching its European election result, with a 12.5-point advantage over PASOK, which stands at 15.5%, just 18 days before the party’s internal elections.

A poll released on Monday showed the ruling New Democracy's lead over PASOK narrowing, while SYRIZA has fallen to fourth place.

The Alco survey, presented on Alpha’s main news bulletin, clearly shows ND’s lead, while SYRIZA appears once again with a single-digit percentage—9.1%—in voter intent of valid votes. PASOK shows an increase to 13.2%, a higher percentage than in the European elections.

With a difference of 58 days—on October 13 and December 1—PASOK and SYRIZA will elect their leadership.

SYRIZA parliamentary group leader Nikos Pappas denied reports that he would be a candidate in the upcoming elections for the SYRIZA presidency during a press conference held as part of the 88th Thessaloniki International Fair on Sunday.

Mr. Pappas represented SYRIZA at the TIF following the removal of Stefanos Kasselakis from the party’s leadership, after the meeting of the Central Committee.

SYRIZA is making a dynamic appearance, with nearly the entire Political Secretariat and most MPs from the main opposition attending the morning meeting with the management of the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) HELEXPO.

The countdown to the election for a new SYRIZA leader has been marred by court threats, verbal assaults, accusations and the presence of the police to maintain the security at party headquarters.

SYRIZA is now the fifth party according to the vote estimate from the Metron Analysis poll presented by Mega this evening. The main opposition party continues to decline compared to its June performance in the corresponding poll. New Democracy (ND) remains above its European election result, with its percentage nearing 30%, while PASOK is rising and appears to have secured second place.
