The Athens Epidaurus Festival (aefestival.gr) presents a spectacular show featuring three legends of classical music: The superstar classical trio of Emanuel Ax, Leonidas Kavakos and Yo-Yo Ma will perform on the stage of the Herodes Atticus Odeon (Dionysiou Aeropagitou) next to the Acropolis this summer. The Vienna Symphony Orchestra joins forces with acclaimed violinist and conductor Leonidas Kavakos for a performance at the open-air Herod Atticus Theater on Saturday, June 22. Founded in 1900, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra has collaborated with celebrated maestros including Wilhelm Furtwangler, Herbert von Karajan, Georges Pretre and Vladimir Fedoseyev.

Acclaimed Greek conductor and violinist Leonidas Kavakos is lending his significant talents to his erstwhile ensemble, the Athens State Orchestra, for a mini-tour of Greece. The tour starts at the Athens Concert Hall on Friday, March 8, with a program comprising Mozart's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra No 3 and Brahms' First Symphony.

Internationally acclaimed violinist Leonidas Kavakos will be taking up the baton to conduct the Athens State Orchestra (KOA) in works by Bach and Bruckner at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall on Sunday, May 13. The ensemble will be joined by members of the Thessaloniki Concert Hall Youth Symphony and the KOA Academy for Young Musicians. Ticket prices range from 12 to 45 euros.

Greek violinist Leonidas Kavakos leads the 5th International Violin Masterclass & Chamber Music Workshop at the Musical Horizons Conservatory in Athens from May 6 to 8. On May 1, center stage was not taken by politics but by culture, as more than 650 million viewers around the world tuned into the annual European Concert of the Berlin Philharmonic, conducted by Sir Simon Rattle and featuring Greece?s Leonidas Kavakos on the violin, from the Athens Concert Hall.

The prestigious Berliner Philharmoniker’s European Concert will take place at the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron Mousikis) on Labour Day (May 1), with Greek star violinist Leonidas Kavakos as the soloist, the Philharmonic announced on Thursday.
