The Guardian Recommends Bulgarian-Greek Movie "The Lesson" as Worth Watching

In last week's list of movie reviews, The Guardian included the Bulgarian-Greek drama "Urok" ("The Lesson"), which has just been released in cinemas in the United Kingdom.

The movie, which is directed by Kristina Grozeva and Petar Valchanov, tells the story of Nadezhda (played by Margita Gosheva), a schoolteacher who wants to teach a thief in her class a lesson.

11th Bulgarian Film Festival in New York to Open Sept. 28

The eleventh edition of So Independent, the first ever yearly Bulgarian film showcase outside of Bulgaria, will open in New York on Monday.

A platform for the most successful Bulgarian filmmakers and a cultural bridge between the United States and Bulgaria, this year's edition of the festival will be held under the patronage of Bulgaria's President  Rosen Plevneliev.

Bulgarian-Greek Drama 'The Lesson' Grabs 4 Awards at 19th Sofia International Film Festival

"The Lesson" (Bulgarian: Urok), a 2014 Bulgarian-Greek film directed by Kristina Grozeva and Petar Valchanov, has won four awards at the 19th Sofia International Film Festival.

"The Lesson snatched four awards at a ceremony on Saturday evening.

The film received three awards by international juries and the audience award.
