Defending champion Lewis Hamilton said on March 22 he hadn't yet reached the peak of his powers as he embarks on the weekend's Australian Grand Prix in search of a fifth Formula One crown.

Lewis Hamilton will try to lay down a marker in this week’s season-opening Australian Grand Prix as he sets his sights on beating fierce rival Sebastian Vettel to a fifth F1 world title.

The Formula One season winds up in Abu Dhabi on Nov. 26 with both titles won, Lewis Hamilton aiming to close the year on a winning note and big money still at stake for those further down the paddock pecking order.

Lewis Hamilton defended his decision to snub a major Formula One promotional event in London and said the British Grand Prix and his title challenge came first.

The Briton, who will be chasing a fourth successive home win at Silverstone on Sunday, was the only driver to miss the F1 Live event on Wednesday.

In a race which finished under the safety car, the Briton made it two wins out of three races this year, with Rosberg second and Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel third.
