Aristotle University stands proud at EuroPride 2024

The presence of Aristotle University at EuroPride 2024, which starts on Friday in Thessaloniki, is seen as a strong message of support to the LGBTQ+ community.

It is the first time Greece is hosting EuroPride, which will last for nine days, and is considered one of the most important festivals of the LGBTQ+ community in Europe - the first was organized in 1992 in London. 

Pride Month 2024: Celebrating Love, Diversity, and Resilience

Pride Month, celebrated every June, is a vibrant and significant time of year dedicated to honoring the LGBTQ+ community and commemorating the ongoing struggle for equal rights and acceptance. The month-long celebration features parades, festivals, workshops, and various events that bring together LGBTQ+ individuals and their allies to celebrate love, diversity, and progress.

Istanbul Authorities Ban LGBT Pride Week Events

"We have obtained information that between 21.06.2022 (Tuesday) and 23.06.2022 (Thursday) gatherings, press releases, marches, distribution of leaflets, etc. are planned to be held within the scope of the 30th Istanbul LGBTI+ Pride Week," the governors' offices said in a statement.
