Aria Hotels expands internationally with entry into Colombian market

Aria Hotels, the Greek hospitality subsidiary of the Libra Group, with over 70 units, announced on Wednesday it is also entering the Colombian market in its first expansion abroad.

Aria will use its knowhow to transform two properties into luxury hotels, one of them to be named Aria Maria.

Electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOLs) will fly in the coming years between major tourism destinations in Greece - at least this is the goal of a large investment for the development of the relevant infrastructure, which the Libra Group is starting to implement through hospitality subsidiary Aria Hotels.

Libra Group in talks to buy Banco Popular property portfolio

The new head of Spain's Banco Popular, Emilio Saracho, is in talks to sell the lender's property portfolio and also a stake to Libra Group, online newspaper El Confidencial reported on Tuesday.

The talks with the Greek conglomerate, which has its origins in shipping, are at an advanced stage, the paper said, citing unidentified sources close to the bank.

Libra Group pushes ahead with Greek investments

Global conglomerate Libra Group, with origins in Greek shipping, is pressing ahead with its $500 million investments in Greece despite the country’s political turmoil, its chief executive said.

Libra, with headquarters in London and New York, has invested in various projects in Greece, including developing hotels and putting $200 million into renewable energy projects.
