ISIS destroys Mosul library – Humanity loses a bit of its history
According to reports quoted by “The Independent”, ISIS jihadists ransacked the Mosul library and set fire to thousands of rare documents, papyrus scrolls and hand-written works, some dating back many centuries.
Around 8,000 tomes were destroyed, as well as hundreds of rare and unique documents.
‘Culture Shift’: Art meets technology
The British Council, in cooperation with Snook, Google and the Future Library are organizing the first Culture Shift in Athens, between the 6th and 8th of March, 2015. The event will take place in the Ilioupolis Public Library.

Vatican Library, National Library sign cooperation protocol
BELGRADE - The current archivist and librarian of the Vatican Apostolic Library, Archbishop Jean-Louis Brugues, signed Monday at the National Library of Serbia (NBS) a protocol on cooperation between the two institutions, set to facilitate the exchange of publications, knowledge and experts in the field of gathering, preserving, processing and protecting the library material.
