US Senator says Turkey-Libya maritime border deal ‘outrageous’

A contested memorandum of understanding delimitating maritime borders between Turkey and Libya's Government of National Accord (GNA) based in Tripoli is "outrageous" and based on a "flawed reading of international law," a US Senator said on Wednesday during a discussion at the Senate Foreign Relations Committee about US Policy towards Libya.

US revises travel warning for Turkey

The US State Department raised the travel advisory level for Turkey to 3 this week, urging Americans to "reconsider travel to Turkey due to terrorism and arbitrary detentions."
In its latest travel update, dated April 9, the US warns travelers to avoid areas near the Syria and Iraq borders due to terrorism and kidnapping.

Police detain person after infiltrating US consulate in Istanbul

Police detained a person who infiltrated the U.S. Consulate building in Istanbul on July 14. 

The person, who is of Central Asian origin, jumped into the consulate garden over the wall, triggering an alarm for security forces.

Police later detained the person, who was reportedly not carrying any weapon.

The man reportedly said he lost his way.

A federal judge in Hawaii issued a nationwide order Wednesday evening blocking President Trump's ban on travel from parts of the Muslim world, dealing a stinging blow to the White House and signalling that Mr. Trump will have to account in court for his heated rhetoric about Islam, according to NY Times.

Federal Court Blocks Trump's Revised Immigration Ban

The federal judge in Hawaii has issued a temporary restraining order blocking the Trump Administration's revised travel ban from taking effect, according to The Washington Post, quoted by BNR. 

The ruling, by U.S. District Judge Derrick K. Watson, froze the travel ban before it was scheduled to take effect at midnight.
