Ex-minister Loverdos withdraws from PASOK

Andreas Loverdos, a former socialist minister and Member of Parliament, has announced his withdrawal from the PASOK socialists.

In a statement posted on social media on Wednesday, Loverdos stated that he has sent a letter to the party leader, Nikos Androulakis, explaining the reasons behind his resignation, which he described as "purely political."

Former socialist minister Andreas Loverdos has been removed from the post of Movement for Change (KINAL) parliamentary spokesman.

The decision was announced to him Tuesday by the leader of the center-left alliance, Fofi Gennimata.

According to reports, relations between the two had cooled after Loverdos made known his intention to run for the leadership of KINAL.
