Ructions over British Museum catwalk

Medea | Epidaurus | July 7 – August 26
Commemorating the centenary of Maria Callas' birth, in conjunction with Frank Castorf's production, the Epidaurus (aefestival.gr) exhibition hall is set to reopen after a 22-year hiatus, thanks to the support of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports.

‘Medea’ through Castorf’s perspective
The five lead actresses in this year's "Medea" performance directed by Frank Castorf at the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus as part of the Athens Festival: (l-r) Evdokia Roumelioti, Maria Nafpliotou, Sofia Kokkali, Angeliki Papoulia and Stefania Goulioti. The play staged by the German director based on Euripides' "Medea" is expected to be one of the top artistic events of the year in Greece.

Homage to Maria Callas with a grand ‘Medea’
In a tribute marking the centennial of Maria Callas' birth, the Greek National Opera is premiering Luigi Cherubini's "Medea" on Tuesday. This major international co-production involves three leading North American opera houses: the Metropolitan Opera in New York City, the Canadian Opera Company and the Lyric Opera of Chicago.

Operatic Soprano Sonya Yoncheva's Documentary to Premiere In Bulgaria
Sonya Yoncheva has announced the premiere of a new movie based on her life entitled "Sonya Yoncheva: Sempre Libera."
The new film by Ema Konstantinova and Georgi Toshev is set to premiere at the 32nd Kinomania Film Festival in Sofia on Nov. 26.
La Divina's effects on display at Athens museum
A visitor to an exhibition at the capital's B&M Theocharakis Foundation looks at a maxi tunic, part of an ensemble crafted by Italian designer Biki, which was worn by the late Greek opera singer Maria Callas for the official premiere of Pier Paolo Pasolini's film "Medea" in 1969.

Marina Abramovic to visit Epidaurus theatre to film Callas documentary
Renowned artist Marina Abramovic will be at the ancient theatre of Epidaurus on March 28 to film scenes for a documentary on the life of famous soprano Maria Callas.
Abramovic has been in Greece since the beginning of March presenting a new project titled “As One” in collaboration between the Marina Abramović Institute (MAI) and the Greek Cultural Organisation NEON.
