Gate of Zeus Temple discovered in western Turkey
Archaeological excavations in the ancient city of Magnesia, located in the western province of Aydın's Germencik district, have brought to light the entrance gate of the Temple of Magnesia Zeus, the replica of which is on display at the Pergamon Museum in Berlin.

Two swimmers dead in Volos and Nafplio
Two swimmers died on Thursday and Friday in separate incidents in beaches near the towns of Nafplio in the Peloponnese and Volos in Magnesia.
The first victim was an 89-year-old woman who was pulled out of the sea unconscious in Anavros beach near Volos on Friday morning.
Her body was transferred to the town's hospital for an autopsy.

Hail, snow fall over mainland
A wet front swept across much of the country on Wednesday, bringing heavy rainfall and thunderstorms to many parts including Volos and much of Magnesia.
Volos was particularly hard hit with three hours of torrential rain in the morning that flooded streets and squares.

Parts of country in state of emergency due to weather damage
Much of the prefecture of Magnisia as well as the island of Skopelos and the area of Pilio have been declared to be in a state of emergency following widespread damage wreaked by the bad weather over the weekend.
