Man arrested for keeping deer, peacocks as pets
A man has been taken into custody by Istanbul police after they discovered several peacocks and a dozen endangered deer, which are prohibited from being kept as pets, in his villa's garden in the Silivri district.

Number of endangered fallow deer increases from seven to 500
The number of fallow deer, whose natural population continued only in the resort town of Antalya and remained at only seven about half a century ago, reached 500 after a protection project was launched.
A project has been going on for more than half a century to increase the population of fallow deer among endangered species.

Nature and wildlife photographer İdris Ölmez, who is working for the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks, photographed fallow deer at the foothills of the Taurus Mountains. He said he waited for some four hours without moving to not scare the animal and get an image.
