Türkiye's famous "mesir paste," a traditional delicacy from the western province of Manisa, has officially been granted European Union geographical indication status, marking a significant step in protecting and promoting the region's culinary heritage.

Ancient Lydian necklace returns to Türkiye from US museum
A 2,700-year-old necklace, recovered from the Bintepeler archaeological site in Manisa and smuggled from Türkiye to the United States, has been returned.
The ancient artifact considered a significant piece of Lydian art had been illegally taken decades ago and held in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts in Massachusetts.

An agora (city square) has been discovered during the excavations in the 2,700-year-old ancient city of Aigai in the western province of Manisa.
While works continue to unearth the agora, located right next to the parliament building, bull-head reliefs and inscriptions related to the god Apollo were also found on the columns in the square during the excavations.
