Jankovic won after 87 minutes of play and is now 2-0 head-to-head against Gavrilova.

Ivanovic advances in Madrid after opponent retires
MADRID - Serbia's highest ranked player on the WTA rankings, Ana Ivanovic, advanced to the second round of Madrid Open, after her first round opponent, Romanian Alexandra Dulgheru, retired from the match on Saturday.
Ivanovic was leading by 2-6, 7-6 (7-1), 4-0.

Sharapova stunned in Miami opening match
World number two Maria Sharapova crashed out of the Miami Open hardcourt tennis tournament on Thursday, beaten 7-6 (7/4), 6-3 by 97th-ranked Russian wild card Daria Gavrilova.
Sharapova, who has never won the WTA premier level title in Miami despite five trips to the final, was playing her opening match after a first-round bye.
