U.S. President Barack Obama recently spoke about a mass shooting in the United States for the seventeenth time in the past seven years. (There have actually been 335 mass shootings in the United States already this year, but he only does the big ones.) But this time, Obama spoke from the Oval Office.
   

Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) said on Dec. 4 that the married couple who killed 14 people in a mass shooting in Southern California were its followers, and FBI agents raided a home apparently belonging to a friend of the husband. 

Tashfeen Malik, the female suspect in the California mass shooting, had pledged allegiance to the leader of the Islamic State group on Facebook, according to US officials.

The post was made under an account with a different name.

Although the video was originally released in 2012, thousand of people share it to inform their friends and family how they can protect themselves and others from a shooting incident.

Police on Dec. 2 identified the two suspects, a man and a woman, who died in an exchange of fire with police following the mass shooting that killed 14 people in California.
 

As many as three people killed at least 14 people and wounded another 17 during a Christmas party at a center for the disabled in San Bernardino, California, on Wednesday. Three shooters, reportedly clad in military-style gear and masks, barged into the center and opened fired in the deadliest mass shooting to take place in the United States in three years.

Vester Lee Flanagan, the man suspected of shooting dead two television journalists during a live broadcast in Virginia, US on Wednesday, has died in hospital of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, international news outlets reported.

US police have shot and killed 385 people during the first five months of this year, a rate of more than two a day, the Washington Post reported on May 30. 

The death rate is more than twice that tallied by the federal government over the past decade, a count that officials concede is incomplete, the newspaper said.
