Surgery unaffordable for many

The frequency of breast cancer has been on the rise among not only Turkish women, but also men, an academic has warned. 

The last trend on Facebook, “challenge accepted” is mostly seen in women’s statuses in their profiles, where they upload their black and white picture as a message for breast cancer and our awakening.
A woman from Greece named Christina gave a whole new dimension to this trend, by posting a photo of her breast after a mastectomy. Her goal was to raise awareness among women.

A huge manhunt is on to locate the wife of jailed former socialist minister Akis Tsohatzopoulos, Vicky Stamati, who escaped from the Dromokaitio Psychiatric Hospital. The first investigations into her disappearance are centered around the laxity concerning the woman's surveillance at the mental facility and on claims circulating around the internet that her son, aged 7, is with her.
