Matrakçı Nasuh opens in Rome
An exhibition titled "Matrakçı Nasuh: A 16th Century Genius," featuring works by the famous 16th-century Ottoman philosopher, mathematician and historian Matrakçı Nasuh, opens today in Italian capital Rome.
The exhibition is hosted by the Societa Geografica Italiana Foundation, which has Europe's most important map archive and library, as part of its 150th anniversary celebrations.

Turkish Culture Minister Nabi Avcı inaugurated an exhibition on Ottoman scholar and intellectual Matrakçı Nasuh at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris on Oct. 27.
Serbia holds exhibit on work of Ottoman genius
An exhibition on Ottoman scholar and intellectual Matrakç? Nasuh opened in Belgrade on Sept. 15.
Promoted by the Turkish president's office, the exhibit features items covering the 16th century figure's broad range of achievements in mathematics, history and artistic miniatures.

Miniatures by Matrakçı Nasuh in tile collection
2014 was launched by UNESCO as the Year of Matrakçı Nasuh, the Ottoman swordsman and miniature artist. A special tile collection is being created with his miniatures by a tile artist in Kütahya On the 450th anniversary of his death, one of the most important statesmen in the era of the Ottoman Sultan Kanuni Sultan Süleyman, Matrakçı Nasuh is being remembered.
