PKK attack kills soldier in Turkey's east
A lieutenant was killed in an outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) attack in the Genç district of the eastern province of Bingöl on June 24.
Lt. Arif Kalafat and two other soldiers were wounded when a hidden home-made explosive was detonated by PKK militants during a security operation late on June 23.

Wave of Armed Attacks Rocks Turkey
Four attacks, some of them carried out by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants, have killed at least six police and army personnel in Turkey on Monday, according to Turkish media reports.

Turkish Parliament adopts Kurdish reform bill
Parliament on July 10 adopted a bill of six articles on reforms to help find a peaceful solution to the Kurdish issue.
The bill will allow the government to take all measures it deems necessary to move the talks forward, including steps to grant amnesty to Kurdish militants who lay down arms.
