Rushdie on ‘road to recovery’ after stabbing
Salman Rushdie is on the road to recovery and showing signs of his "feisty and defiant" self, family and friends said Sunday, days after a shocking assault left him on a ventilator with multiple stab wounds.
Just hours after Friday's attack at a literary event in western New York state, the British author had undergone emergency surgery for potentially life-threatening injuries.

Aselsan signs $31.3 mln mechanical ventilator order deal
The Turkish defense giant Aselsan signed an agreement worth $31.3 million with the International Health Services Inc. for the production of mechanical ventilators.
"Within the scope of the agreement, mid-level intensive care mechanical ventilator order is given to Aselsan," the defense firm announced on June 10.
Devices will be delivered this year, it noted.
