Medical laboratory scientists working in the private sector will be walking off the job on Wednesday, the first day of what may turn out to be a protracted strike that will affect diagnostic clinics and labs, but is not expected to have a significant impact on public hospitals.

Staff at clinical laboratories working with Greece’s main health provider, EOPYY, are expected to end the suspension of their activities and return to providing their services to insured patients following a meeting with Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis on Wednesday.

The meeting was the third between the two parties.
